Machinists Union members are facing numerous plant closures and layoffs after the broken promises of the elected officials. The current Administration’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 was supposed to encourage corporate America to use its extra cash to raise wages and spur job growth. Instead, IAM members are facing plant closings and layoffs at an alarming rate causing a devastating effect on the state and local communities.
The purpose of this website is to provide information and resources for IAM members and their families.
The IAM continues to push hard for policies that benefit workers and their families. The IAM will fight for trade policies that will keep corporations from outsourcing and offshoring our jobs.
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers will make every resource available to our members, their families, and the community.
“These companies are taking tax breaks with one hand and handing out pink slips with the other,” said Machinists Union International President Robert Martinez Jr. “I’m going to call it like I see it. This is a corporate ambush on working people.”
The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) is among the largest industrial trade unions in North America and represents nearly 600,000 active and retired members in the manufacturing, aerospace, defense, airlines, transportation, shipbuilding, woodworking, health care and other industries.
